Joyeux Noel. Frohe Weinachten. Buon Natale Feliz Natal.
In a year that presented so many challenges, like many, I am looking forward to a bit of a break over the holiday season. While 2020 draws to a close, it is with great optimism that I look forward to 2021. This pandemic is by no means over of course, and a new calendar year brings no guarantee of closure on that front. But what this past year has highlighted for me is how we have all rallied and tried to make the best of what sometimes felt like an impossible mountain to climb.
As Victoria turned the corner and achieved what seemed unachievable back in August, the job market has taken a considerable up turn in activity and availability of roles on a temp, contract and permanent basis boding well for 2021. A blended working arrangement spent between WFH and a very different looking office space with be the norm as many whom were on-boarded remotely will potentially meet their employer face-to-face for the first time in the new year! What a turn up?
I would like to sincerely thank all of our clients, partners and colleagues who have supported Rusher Rogers throughout this year. Importantly you have allowed us to keep our temp professionals working throughout and for this we are truly grateful. Thank you all for the beautiful messages of support throughout the year, especially through our second lockdown when all of our spirits had hit a low point. Thank you for sharing your ideas for moving forward and wisdom in making the best of a challenging landscape. Thank you for joining me each Friday night for Quarantini’s, great therapy for all with some fabulous friendships emerging from that online forum that will hopefully be rewarded by a face-to-face opportunity in 2021.
To our fabulous candidates, you have been truly been amazing. Gracious under pressure and willing to go above and beyond when ever we needed you to. What a bunch of rock stars our temp professionals are. You are the reason why we have been able to carry on and we sincerely thank you for your support, reliability, professionalism under sometimes trying circumstances and your ability to adapt so quickly. Unicorns, each and every one of you.
Fortunately, we had a steady flow of permanent roles throughout the year, but with volume picking up significantly during the last 6 weeks. This pattern seems to be continuing, giving rise to an optimistic outlook taking us into the New Year. Well done to all those permanently placed candidates who snared a new job during the year, amidst a global pandemic…rarefied air indeed.
While 2021 may throw us more curve balls, we have all learnt so much about ourselves in this year like no other. We have certainly learnt the meaning of resilience and on the whole, willingness to, and how to, adapt. Bring on the New Year. Take care everyone and enjoy a well-earned break if you are fortunate to be able to have one
Thank you for your support
